I am thrilled to announce my painting ‘Rise’ has been selected by Puzzle Lab for their new ‘Puzzle with a Purpose!’ These beautiful wooden jigsaw puzzles merge technology, art, nature, and are made locally by a small family run business in Victoria, BC. They are heirloom-quality, made from a UV laminated print on 1/4″ 5-ply baltic birch. $20 from the sale of each puzzle is donated to Raincoast Conservation Initiative, working to protect and safeguard species and ecosystems in BC.
Puzzle Lab starts by curating stunning graphics and local art, focusing on showcasing local Canadian Artists. Next, the wacky puzzle pieces are created in our digital laboratory with custom computer algorithms. Then, they’re laser cut at our studio in the heart of Victoria, BC. Rise features a custom pattern of over 200 identical orca whales!
This uniquely challenging wood jigsaw puzzle composed of just over 200 identical orca-shaped pieces seamlessly tiled in an Escher-style tessellation pattern. Puzzle Lab’s resident mad scientist Andrew has devised a clever new cut pattern for this unique puzzle! Each identical piece is a little orca whale, interacting with its neighbors in an endless Escher-style pattern.
This is our chance to rise up together in support of protecting our coastal wildlife! $20 from each sale of this puzzle is being donated to the Raincoast Conservation Foundation.
I’m so excited to collaborate with Puzzle Lab for this Puzzle with a Purpose! It combines all the reasons I make art: celebrating the remarkable natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, encouraging others to explore the world through the lens of creativity and art, and giving back to conservation initiatives such as Raincoast. It’s a lovely way to get away from the screen and help support small business and conservation at the same time.
